About Steve Scott

main-photo-croppedIt has been a long journey towards becoming a self-published author, so let me give you the Cliff’s Notes version…

I started dabbling with Internet businesses back in 2002, but didn’t fully commit myself until 2004. Even then—it wasn’t able to rely entirely on my online income until 2006.

From 2006 to 2012, I built a variety of Internet businesses—i.e. blogging, affiliate marketing and information products. In 2012, I was looking for a way to drive traffic to my blog ( and I heard great things about the Kindle publishing platform. So I decided to take a few old blog posts, put them into a book and publish on Amazon.

This book didn’t do well for a few months, until I released the second and used the KDP Select to promote the first title by giving it away for five days. After the promo ended, my books were averaging $10 to $15 a day. Not a lot of money, but it lead to the biggest ah-ha moment of my life where I wondered:

“Instead of spending my time writing blog posts, what if I focused on small topics and put them into book format that were reasonably priced at $2.99?”

And as they say, the rest is history.

Since that moment, I’ve devoted myself full-time to self-publishing.
